“If you want to use television to teach someone, you must first teach them how to use television” -Umberto Eco

I will never kill my TV.

My dearly beloved idiot box, telly, boob tube—whatever you want to call it is fine with me. I’ll watch The Sopranos for an hour and then switch to an episode of The Good Place for comedic relief. I pop Clueless into my DVD player, and after Mr. Hall and Miss Geist exchange their vows, I swap it out for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

Television is not low culture; it is democratic, creative, a mirror of our world, and it plays a central role in our everyday lives. This is my space to examine and make sense of all the media we consume and how we talk about it.
